Taylor Graham - My Genius Philanthropist Nephew

(This page is dedicated to my nephew as his effort to help the hungry.)

OFFICIAL WEBSITE for "Read for the Need"

I am Taylor Graham. When I was seven I came up with the idea to sell my used books to buy food for the hungry. Then I asked for books from my family, then my friends. I asked my church and my school. So many people helped. I couldn't do it without my community. Five years ago, I started Read for the Need. The program consists of two parts. A book sale and a shopping cart derby. The goal is to feed the hungry. I started in Florence, a small town on the Oregon Coast. The first year my goal was to raise $500. I raised more than $4,000. In three years my project has raised $29,000 which bought 38,000 pounds of food for the Florence Food Share.
